The NC State women's golf team continues fall action Sept. 21-22 at the Mercedes Women's Collegiate in Knoxville, Tenn. The first round and second rounds will be played continuously on Monday and the third and final round will be Tuesday.
The two-day event at Knoxville's Cherokee Country Club is NC State's second tournament of the fall season. Last week, the Wolfpack placed seventh of 20 teams at the Cougar Classic in South Carolina. Freshman Leonie Bettel (+5) and Naomi Ko (+6) led the team, which played with three freshmen in the lineup. This week will see senior Rachael Taylor, last year's leading scorer for the Wolfpack, return to the lineup. Taylor will play with three freshmen - Naomi Ko, India Clyburn and Leonie Bettel - and sophomore Cecily Overbey. Sarah Bae will play as an individual.
After this week's play in Tennessee, NC State will play close to home when it competes in the Tar Heel Invitational in Chapel Hill Oct. 9-11.
