PORTLAND, Ore. -- Senior Kenyetta Iyevbele reset the school record in the 800m at the Portland Track Festival Monday evening, as she continues to compete in search of a USA Championships qualifying mark.
The Charlotte, N.C., native took second in her heat and 10th overall in the high performance 800m with a time of 2:03.01. This is the second time in three weeks that Iyevbele has reset her own school record. She shaved 0.44 seconds off her previous record, which was set at the NCAA East Preliminary.
Her time is just .01 seconds from an automatic qualifying mark for the USA Championships, but she can still earn an at-large bid to the meet.
In other action, Wolfpack alumnus Ryan Hill finished fourth in the high performance 1,500m with a time of 3:38.17. Hill's mark qualifies him for the USA Championships. He is currently racing for the Nike Bowerman Track Club.
