RALEIGH -- Ending with a 1-0 loss to Old Dominion on a windy April afternoon, the NC State women's soccer team concluded its spring season this past weekend with a 3-2-1 record. Throughout the course of the spring, NC State defeated Campbell, East Carolina, and Coastal Carolina.
The difference in State's April 4 contest with Old Dominion came in the 40th minute when a wind-aided punt found its way to a Monarchs striker for a breakaway situation.
"I'm disappointed to lose because we had control of the match for long stretches," NC State head coach Tim Santoro said. "This result is what we've avoided all spring until Saturday.
"We've made strides this spring but we're building to consistently win games like this. We are now excited to add our newcomers to the core players from this current roster."
