
Wolfpack In The Hunt For NCAA Championship Berth

NCAA REGIONAL ROUND 2 RESULTS | FINAL ROUND TEE TIMES
RALEIGH - With 18 holes left to play, the NC State women's golf team is very much in the hunt to advance to the NCAA Women's Golf Championship.
The Pack (+20) is tied for sixth place with Ohio State, and the top six teams advance to the NCAA Championship in Brandenton, Fla. NC State is in a tightly-packed middle of the standings, just four shots behind LSU for third place but three shots ahead of UCF for ninth place. The difference between fourth place and ninth place is a mere six shots.
In Friday's second round, NC State was led by Rachael Taylor's round of 75. Taylor (69-75--144) is even for the tournament and tied for fifth place in the 96-player field.
South Carolina (+5) owns an eight-shot lead over Alabama (+13) for the tournament lead. LSU (+16), Coastal Carolina (+17) and Northwestern (+18) round out the top five before NC State and Ohio State's tie. Campbell (+22) is just two shots out of the cut to advance.
Individually, LSU's Madelene Sagstrom (-6) leads Alabama's Emma Talley (-4) for the tourney lead.
Also of note, Lena Schaeffner of Coastal Carolina carded an ace on the 17th hole. Schaeffner (-1) is tied for third place.
NC State will tee off on hole No. 1 beginning at 7:30 a.m. The top six teams and three top individuals following Saturday's round will advance to the NCAA Women's Golf Championship, held May 22-27 at The Concession Golf Club in Brandenton, Fla.
