Taylor (-3) Leads Pack In Regional First Round

RALEIGH - Rachael Taylor fired a 3-under 69 to lead the NC State women's golf team to a great start in the NCAA Women's Golf Regional at Lonnie Poole Golf Course on Thursday.
Taylor's best round as a collegiate player charted her at second place in the 96-player field and helped put the Wolfpack in prime position heading into Friday's second round. The Pack (+2), the No. 11 seed entering the tournament, finds itself in second place and just two shots behind leader LSU (E). Ohio State (+4) stands third, Campbell (+5) is in fourth place and Alabama (+6) is fifth.
Taylor is one shot out of the overall lead, trailing only LSU's Madelene Sagstrom (-4). Taylor and Sagstrom will be teeing off together Friday morning at 9:45 a.m.
Lindsay McGetrick, NC State's All-ACC player, shot an even par 72. Stephanie Pribonic (+2) enjoyed one of her best days, firing a 74. Vivian Tsui (+3) and Cecily Overbey (+9) rounded out the Wolfpack lineup.
The regional at Lonnie Poole continues beginning Friday morning at 7:30 a.m. NC State tees off Friday morning from the first hole beginning at 9:09 a.m.
