Wrestling Sending a Pack to University Nationals

RALEIGH, N.C. - This weekend, the NC State wrestling team will be sending 21 wrestlers to compete at the University Freestyle National Tournament in Akron, Ohio. This two day event featuring almost 650 collegiate-aged wrestlers normally serves as the University World Team qualifier, however this year is not a University World Championships year.
Wrestlers competing as a part of the Wolfpack Wrestling Club are listed below:
57 KG: R-Fr. Sean Fausz
61 KG: Jr. Marshall Brown, R-Fr. Jamal Morris
65 KG: Sr. Sam Speno, R-So. Jake DeAngelo
70 KG: R-So. Beau Donahue, R-Jr. Cohl Fulk, Jr. Brian Hamann, So. Sam Melikian, R-Fr. Chandler Pyke, R-So. Rodney Shepard
74 KG: R-Sr. Tommy Gantt, R-So. Chad Pyke, Jr. Max Rohskopf
80 KG: R-Jr. Lee Davis, So. Nicky Hall
86 KG: Jr. Michael Macchiavello, R-Fr. Derrick Maisonet
97 KG: So. Michael Boykin, R-Fr. Malik McDonald
125 KG: R-Jr. Mike Kosoy
Some notes for this competition:
• Tommy Gantt will be competing for the first time this year since the Southern Scuffle in January
• Mike Kosoy and Max Rohskopf will be competing in both the freestyle and greco roman divisions.
• Jamal Morris, Nicky Hall, and Mike Boykin will be making their freestyle debut this weekend for the Wolfpack.
Nick Gwiazdowski, Pete Renda, and Kevin Jack will all be off from competition this weekend and will be preparing for the Senior and Junior World Team Trials in Madison, Wisconsin starting June 12th. Malik McDonald, competing this weekend, will be competing in the Junior World Team Trials as well.
