GREENSBORO, N.C. -- NC State will take on the Nebraska Huskers in the 2015 Big Ten/ACC Challenge, the Atlantic Coast Conference office announced Wednesday morning. Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Neb., will be the site of the Thursday, Dec. 3 contest.
The Wolfpack will enter the 2015-16 season with a six-woman recruiting class which was ranked as highly as No. 6 in the nation (Blue Star Report) and No. 16 by ESPN HoopGurlz. Five of NC State's incoming freshmen were McDonald's High School All-American nominees, four are ESPN top-100 recruits, and two are recent state champions.
Nebraska posted a 21-11 mark during the 2014-15 season and earned its fourth straight NCAA Tournament berth, falling to Syracuse 72-69 in the first round of the competition. The Huskers had two second team All-Big Ten selections (Emily Cady and Rachel Theriot) and one honorable mention pick (Tear'a Laudermill). Cady and Laudermill were both seniors on last season's team.
