GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Renada Davis of the NC State softball team has been named Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Co-Player of the Week, announced Monday by the conference office. She shares the honor with Notre Dame's Katey Haus.
The senior shortstop continued her hot hitting at the plate last week, recording a batting average of .500 with eight hits in 16 at-bats. She clubbed three home runs in five games played, highlighted by a grand slam against No. 8 Florida State.
Davis drove in 11 runs during the week, headlined by a four-RBI performance in game one of the series against the Seminoles and three RBI in the Wolfpack's 9-4 win over FSU in the series finale. The Tomball, Texas, native also scored six runs.
She extended her program-best reached base safely streak to 27 games by reaching base in all five games during the week.
Defensively, Davis was perfect, making a couple of great plays at shortstop to conclude the week with 12 assists and seven putouts without committing an error.
The accolade comes as the fifth of Davis' career with the Wolfpack and the second of the season for an NC State player. Tyler Ross garnered ACC Player of the Week honors on March 9.
Receiving the weekly honor caps a great week for Davis, as she was selected in the 2015 National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) College Draft by the Dallas Charge with the 16th overall selection.
