Geiger Named Honorary Referee at 121st Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA - NC State's Rollie Geiger, will don the famous yellow hat as an Honorary Referee at the 2015 Penn Relays. Geiger's excellence in coaching has led to receiving the prestigious honor at the nation's oldest and largest track meet.
 
He will be honored on Saturday at Franklin Field.
 
Geiger has led the NC State track and field program to unpredicted heights during his reign as head coach beginning in 1985.
 
Geiger has won six conference championships in track and field, giving him a conference-record 40 ACC championship teams between track and cross country.
 
Since the beginning of Geiger's reign as the head track and field coach, 74 Wolfpack athletes have earned 167 track and field All-America mentions, and seven national titles in individual events.
 
He has also coached his teams to recent success at the Penn Relays.
 
In 2014, Alexis Perry took first in the women's long jump and Tremanisha Taylor repeated as the women's shot put champion. In 2013, Taylor earned her first shot put title, and she also won the discus event in the championship division in 2012.
