RALEIGH, N.C. -- The NC State softball team will head to Radford, Va., on Tuesday for a doubleheader against the Radford Highlanders. It will be the Wolfpack's first trip to the Highlanders home field since 2008. First pitch of the twin bill is slated for 4 p.m. at RU Softball Stadium.
State enters the contest with a 26-19 overall record on the year, while Radford is 11-26 this season.
NC State leads the all-time series against Radford, 5-2, after wining both games of a doubleheader at Dail Stadium last season. The Wolfpack won game one of the twin bill, 7-0, and claimed game two with a 4-0 victory.
The Pack last traveled to Radford in 2008 when the teams split a doubleheader. State won the first game, 3-1, but dropped a 4-1 decision in the second game.
Last Time Out
In its last outing of the season, the Wolfpack dropped the series to UNC-Chapel Hill after the Tar Heels won both games of Saturday's doubleheader. State won game one of the series last Friday, but UNC countered with a pair of wins on Saturday.
Lucky Number Three
NC State has scored 49 runs in the third inning of games this season, which is the highest of any inning. The Wolfpack has allowed just 34 runs in the frame to tie as the largest run differential in any inning at 15.
Davis' Streak Ends at 32
Senior Renada Davis' record-breaking streak of consecutive games reached base safely came to a close at 32 on Friday against UNC. She broke the program record of 21, she set during the 2013 season.
During the streak, she hit .438 with 42 hits, 28 runs scored, 26 RBI, 25 walks, 11 doubles and eight home runs.
