RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State track and Field Team will split up to take on three different competitions this weekend. Parts of the team will be in Gainesville, Fla., for the Florida Relays, High Point, N.C., for the VertKlasse Meeting and Palo Alto, Calif. for the Stanford Invitational.
Florida Relays:
The Pack's female throwers and a portion of jumpers and sprinters will compete against some of the best teams in the country at the Florida Relays on Friday and Saturday. The competition features a plethora of top-10 schools including host Florida, as well as Florida State, Georgia and Kentucky.
The Pack's 4x100 and 4x400 relays teams will also compete at the meet.
VertKlasse Meeting:
The male throwers, a section of sprinters and multi-event specialist Grant Rivers will compete at High Point in the VertKlasse Meeting on Saturday. The meet will feature athletes from Duke, UNC-Chapel Hill, and East Carolina, as well as other programs from the east coast.
Stanford Invitational:
Erika Kemp and Joanna Thompson will travel to Stanford University to compete in the 10,000m on Friday night. After both turned in top-five national marks last weekend at the Raleigh Relays in the 5,000m the duo will look to continue their strong start to the outdoor season.
Last Time Out:
NC State turned in a successful outing at Raleigh Relays to earn 13 Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) qualifying marks, and place 11 student-athletes among the top 20 of the national standings in various events.
