INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.- After a third-place finish and score of 195.225 at the EAGL Championship Sunday afternoon, the NC State gymnastics team has earned its 13th-straight bid to the NCAA Regional Championships, as announced by the NCAA committee Monday afternoon.
The Wolfpack is one of the six teams chosen to compete at the Oklahoma Regional on April 4, with the competition time slated for 4:45 p.m. ET inside the Lloyd Noble Center in Norman, Okla. The top-ranked Sooners will play host and be joined by the 33rd-ranked Wolfpack, No. 12 Oregon State, No. 13 Penn State, No. 22 Southern Utah and No. 27 Missouri.
Each of the six regional sites will host six teams, five all-around competitors (not on a qualifying team) and one individual specialist per event (not on a qualifying team).
Advancing from regional competition to the national championships will be a total of 12 teams and 12 all-around competitors and event specialists. The top two teams and the top two all-around competitors (who are not on an advancing team) from each regional will receive an automatic berth to the national championships.
In addition, the event winners at each regional will advance to the national championships, in that event only, if they are not part of a qualifying team or an all-around qualifier.
