NC State baseball fell 6-0 at No. 19 Miami in Sunday's series finale in Coral Gables, Fla.
The Wolfpack (10-7, 2-4 ACC) could not get the offense started, falling behind 2-0 in the second on a passed ball and an RBI groundout to the right side. The Hurricanes (15-6, 4-2) added two more in the fifth, and a two-run homer in the eighth.
Jake Armstrong, Joe Dunand, and Jake Fincher supplied the Pack's only hits, with Fincher contributing a double down the right field line for State's lone extra-base hit.
Johnny Piedmonte (2-1) took the loss on four innings of work, allowing three runs, one earned, on five hits and a walk while striking out a pair. Jon Olczak relieved him and looked sharp for 3 1/3, limiting the Canes to one unearned run on a hit and a walk. Joe O'Donnell pitched the final 2/3.
NC State returns to action on Tuesday, March 17 at 6 PM against UNC Greensboro.
