RALEIGH - The NC State women's soccer team picked up a win in its first action of the spring season on Saturday afternoon, defeating the visiting Campbell Camels by a final score of 2-1.
Freshman Karina Lacey scored both goals in the victory on assists from Jackie Stengel and Dayna Tomayko. Mackenzie Stelljes split time in goal with Greta Akerlind.
"We were pretty comfortable for most of the game," NC State head coach Tim Santoro said. "After we made some changes, there was a drop for 20 minutes in the second half and we gave them a few chances. I do think we should've scored 2-3 more of our own in the game. Considering the training limitations this week and a completely new formation, the girls were solid."
The Pack will return to action on Sunday, March 1 vs. Old Dominion at 2 p.m. The match will be played at Dail Soccer Field beginning at 2 p.m.
