Franziska Jaser Called Up to U19 German National Team

FRANKFURT, Germany - Franziska Jaser of the NC State women's soccer team has been selected to represent the Germany Under-19 Women's National Team at the La Manga Tournament in Spain, the German Football Association announced recently.
Spanning from Feb. 28 - March 10, the tournament includes ten teams and three matches per country. Jaser and Germany will play Sweden (March 5), Italy (March 7) and Norway (March 9).
Jaser is the only NCAA student athlete to represent the German women at the tournament. Her teammates hail from notable clubs such as Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen, and VfL Wolfsburg. She is no stranger to international competition, as she was a member of the 2014 U20 World Cup championship team just this past summer. (Photo credit)
During her freshman season at State, Jaser started in 17 matches and tied for a team high with three assists. She played 1,508 minutes throughout the season, primarily at defense, but occasionally in the midfield.
