RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State Director of Athletics Debbie Yow has made a profound impact in her five-plus years leading Wolfpack athletics. It hasn't gone unnoticed nationally, as Yow made the Forbes list of Most Powerful Women in Sports.
Yow ranks 16th on the list, released by Forbes on Dec. 2.
Since her arrival at NC State, Wolfpack athletics have made significant strides athletically and academically. NC State finished 89th in the Learfield Directors' Cup standings the year prior to arrival, and posted a 27th place finish nationally in 2015, the highest finish in program history.
Additionally, NC State student-athletes have posted the three highest Graduation Success Rate and Federal Graduation Rate marks over the last three years.
Her impact can also be felt in major projects on campus such as the Close-King Indoor Practice Facility, completed last summer, and the ongoing renovation of historic Reynolds Coliseum.
Yow was one of only five women in collegiate athletics to make the list.
