
Wolfpack Earns Road Win At Missouri

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Anthony 'Cat' Barber scored 33 points - 19 in the first half - and the NC State men's basketball team earned its second road win in a week, a 73-59 victory at Missouri.
Barber, coming off a 26-point game against High Point that saw him hit the game-winner at buzzer, shot 9-15 from the floor and 13-15 from the line He also added seven rebounds and four assists.
Abdul-Malik Abu notched a double-double with 13 points and a team-high 11 rebounds.
Key Stats: The Wolfpack shot well from the free-throw line in the second half, shooting 20-for-23. NC State controlled the glass, out rebounding Missouri 41-29 and had a 20-3 edge in second-chance points.
With the win, head coach Mark Gottfried has earned his 100th win at NC State. Gottfried is the second fastest head coach to reach the century mark. He earned win No. 100 in just 154 games, behind Everett Case who reached the mark in 120 games and just ahead of Jim Valvano who did it in 156 games.
Gott Said It: "Cat was terrific again. He has been spectacular for every night for us. Tonight he did it again. He got to the foul line and made some really big shots."
Turning Point: The Wolfpack trailed the entire first half before Barber nailed a 3-pointer at the buzzer to give the Pack a 29-28 halftime lead. After the break, the Pack took that momentum and proceeded to outplay the Tigers. A 17-3 Wolfpack run gave NC State a 13-point lead and the Wolfpack maintained that lead the rest of the night.
Up Next: The Wolfpack has one game before getting a short holiday break. NC State hosts UNC Greensboro Tuesday, Dec. 22 at 7 p.m.
