Fender Third Team All-Region

Holden Fender earned a spot on the NSCAA's 2015 All-South Region Third Team
NC State senior defender Holden Fender garnered an All-South Region Third Team mention, announced Wednesday by the NSCAA.
The NSCAA All-South Region Team recognizes the top NCAA talent from the states of Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, and Florida.
Fender adds to his CoSIDA Academic All-District accolade with the honor, after leading NC State to an 8-6-3 record and nine points against teams ranked in the RPI Top 25, including wins over Boston College and South Carolina.
The senior captain started all 17 matches for the Pack, bringing his career total to 52 matches played and started during his time in Raleigh. Fender landed nine of 16 shots on goal in 2015, but did not score. For his career, Fender has a pair of goals and six assists from his defender position.
The last time NC State placed a player on the NSCAA's All-South Region list occured in 2013, when Nazmi Albadawi and Alex Martinez landed on the second and third teams, respectively.
