Hranicka Emerging as Key Player for NC State Volleyball

Freshman leads NC State with 160 kills in ACC play

RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State volleyball team is one of the youngest teams in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). With such a young team, several underclassmen have been thrust into action and are having to take on larger roles.

Blayke Hranicka, a freshman from Denver, Colo., has made the most of her opportunity to contribute and has started every match for the Wolfpack this season. She's second on the team with 250 kills, an average of 2.58 kills per set.

In ACC play, Hranicka has raised her level of play and owns a team-best 160 kills for an average of 2.96 kills per set. She was named ACC Freshman of the Week on Sept. 20 after tying the program record with 12 blocks in a 3-0 win against Tennessee.

It was the most blocks in a three-set match in NC State history and the second most in a three-set match in the NCAA this season.
