This marks Mumma’s third mention of the season
GREENSBORO, N.C.-Â Rachel Mumma and Alexia Zevnik of the NC State women's swimming and diving team earned conference performer of the week awards, as Mumma was named ACC Female Diver of the Week and Zevnik tabbed Co-ACC Female Swimmer of the Week, as announced by the league office Tuesday.
Â
For Mumma, this marks her third mention in the 2015-16 season and the fourth-straight week NC State has competed and had a student-athlete earn a weekly honor issued by the conference.
Â
At the Nike Cup last weekend, the senior from Harrisburg, Pa., finished in the top-two in all three diving events. She won the one-meter dive with a score of 329.15, and placed second in the three-meter and platform events with scores of 330.30 and 241.90, respectively.
Â
Additionally, on platform she notched her NCAA zone qualifying mark, giving her eligibility to compete in all three events at the NCAA Zone B Diving Championships in March.
Â
For Zevnik, a junior from Lasalle, Canada, this is the third honor of her career.
Â
She came away from last weekend's invitational with wins in all of her individual events, and helped the 400 freestyle relay team grab a win as well as a NCAA 'A' cut with a time of 3:14.39.
Â
Zevnik also broke her school records in the 200 individual medley and 100 backstroke, tabbing marks of 1:56.53 and 51.65, in respective order.
Â
On top of her strong performance for the Pack in Chapel Hill, she currently holds top-10 national and NCAA 'B' cut times in the 200 IM, 100 back, 200 back and 100 free.
Â
NC State will return to action when select members of the team travel to the AT&T Winter National Championships, Dec. 3-5, in Federal Way, Wash.Â
