Why she chose NC State – "Many people don't believe in love at first sight, but they will when they visit NC State."

PrepVolleyball on Spieker – "Spieker is the rare outside hitter with great size AND the ability to play all six rotations at a high level. She continues to get stronger and work hard at her game on and off the court. Offensively she shows great range and an ability to mix in off-speed shots when not dropping the hammer with great power. Spieker is the type of player who seems to get stronger as games go on or when things get close. Defensively, her blocking is greatly improved and she is a strong passer with superb ball control. Her defensive intensity and effort make her reads look easy and her long frame, together with the effort she puts forth, make most balls in her range. A natural leader, Spieker is often the most vocal player on the court and a very hard worker. She has a great sense of humor that is infectious with teammates and coaches."

Lauryn Terry
Hammond HS
Metro American Volleyball Club
Columbia, Md.
Middle Blocker 6'3"
- Named a Senior Ace and top 100 recruit by PrepVolleyball.com, checking in at No. 64 in the rankings – one of the top recruits to ever sign with NC State
- Collected first team all-county honors following her senior season
- Garnered second team all-county honors after her junior and sophomore seasons at Hammond High School
- Tabbed one of the volleyball players to watch prior to the season by the Baltimore Sun
- Advanced to national in the 17 division as a member of the Metro American Club team
- Three-year starter for Hammond and member of the National Honor Society and Diamond Scholars

Why she chose NC State – "I chose NC State because of its excellent academics and because of the coaching staff. I admire them and their coaching philosophy."

PrepVolleyball on Terry – "Terry is blessed with the ideal frame for a middle blocker. She is tall, lean and very explosive, with the kind of raw athleticism that makes college coaches salivate. Terry plays well above the net both offensively and defensively. Extremely quick laterally and a fantastic space-eater, she has a great ability to penetrate the net blocking. Watching her crank an overpass or a quick attack is awe-inspiring. Very smart – she is a member of National Honor Society. Terry is a sponge, who always seeks guidance to better her game and the kind of player with great drive and determination. She loves to be challenged and, in turn, to challenge those around her. A player with a massive improvement arc, Terry has the kind of untapped potential that could prove to be a program changer for a school like NC State, where she has committed."
