Volleyball Suffers 3-0 Setback at Georgia Tech

Junior setter Maggie Speaks records her fifth double-double of the year
ATLANTA – The NC State volleyball team dropped a 3-0 (25-23, 25-18, 25-22) decision on Sunday against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets inside O'Keefe Gym. The Wolfpack started well in each set, but was unable to maintain its level of play down the stretch.

The Pack falls to 13-9 and 2-8 in Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) play, while the Yellow Jackets improve to 14-9 and 5-5 in league matches.

Match Rewind
- NC State dropped a tightly-contested first set, 25-23, as the score was tied 13 times and neither team led by more than three points.
- With the score tied at 23, an attack error by the Wolfpack and a kill by Georgia Tech's Sydney Wilson gave the Yellow Jackets the 1-0 lead in the match.
- The Wolfpack struggled with its passing in the second set and its offensive numbers dipped. A 5-0 run allowed Georgia Tech to take control of the frame, after the score was tied at 12.
- NC State tried to mount a comeback late in the frame, but consecutive kills from Teegan Van Gunst gave the Yellow Jackets the 25-18 second-set win.
- The Wolfpack raced out to a 10-2 lead in the third set, but it was short-lived as the Yellow Jackets quickly erased the deficit and went on to win the frame, 25-22 and the overall match, 3-0.

- Freshman Blayke Hranicka and sophomore Perry Ramsey each had eight kills in the match, while Julia brown and Kaitlyn Kearney tallied six apiece.
- At the setter position, junior Maggie Speaks dished out 30 assists and collected a team-high 11 digs to record her fifth double-double performance of the season.
- Junior libero Rachel Eppley and Ramsey chipped in with 10 digs.
