RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State women’s volleyball head coach Bryan Bunn announced on Wednesday that Kassie Kasper will join the Wolfpack program for the 2015 season.
Kasper, a 5’6” defensive specialist and libero, will look to help the Pack defense in the 2015 season with her speed and quickness on the back row.
"Kassie is a great defender and will bring a great enthusiasm and passion for the game,” said Bunn. “I look forward to having her in the gym and competing for a DS/L spot this fall."
The Algonquin, Ill. native, collected Harry D. Jacobs High School team MVP honors as a senior and junior. She was also tabbed a Daily Herald Fox Valley and Courier News All-Area selection in 2014 and 2013.
While at Jacobs High School, Kasper served as a team captain in her final two seasons and led the team in digs, service aces and was also the program’s best passer.
She claimed Fox Valley All-Conference honors as a junior and senior in high school. As a sophomore, she garnered Daily Herald Fox Valley All-Area Team Honorable Mention consideration.
On the club circuit, Kasper was a starter on Sky High Volleyball’s top team from 2007-2015. In 2012, she was named to the Windy City All-Power League Team.
Not only was Kasper a standout on the court, but also in the classroom as she was recognized as a 2015 Illinois State Scholar and was a 2014 AAU Academic All-American. She was also on the high honor roll all four years at Jacobs and served as the student council president of her class each year.
Kasper joins Sarah Konchan, a 6’0” outside hitter, and Becky Porter, a 6’1” setter, as members of the 2015 recruiting class.
