THE OPPONENTS
Oklahoma enters with a 5-4 mark on the season, with three of the four losses coming to foes ranked in the top-10. The Sooners were one of five schools in the ‘Others Receiving Votes’ in this week’s USA Today/NWCA Division I Coaches Poll. Oklahoma features three wrestlers ranked in the top-20, two of which are in the top-10 nationally. The Sooners will be in home action for the first time since three home duals on Nov. 1.
Missouri enters a perfect 13-0 on the season in duals, coming off of a 27-9 win at then-No. 4 Cornell this past weekend. The Tigers are ranked No. 3 in this week’s USA Today/NWCA Division I Coaches Poll and No. 4 by FloWrestling.com. Eight of Missouri’s 10 starters are ranked in the top-20 this week, including four in the top-5 of their weight class. Missouri will host Central Michigan on Saturday afternoon before hosting the Pack on Sunday.
OF NOTE
With a pair of wins this weekend, Nick Gwiazdowski would tie the school record for most consecutive wins with 41. Gwiazdowski won his final 20 bouts last year enroute to an NCAA title, and is a perfect 19-0 this year putting his streak to 39 straight. Former Pack national champion Sylvester Terkay won all 41 bouts his senior season and currently holds the school record for most consecutive wins.
UP NEXT FOR NC STATE
