RALEIGH, N.C. – GoPack.com recently caught up with NC State women’s volleyball head coach Bryan Bunn to recap the 2014 season and get his overall thoughts on the year. In the video, coach Bunn talks about some of the highlights from the season and discusses the spring workout schedule for the Wolfpack.
Season Highlights
- For the fourth consecutive season, the Pack finished with a winning record as the squad posted a 16-14 mark.
- State won 12 straight matches during the season, just one win shy of tying the program record of 13 set in 2012.
- The Wolfpack also completed the month of September with a perfect 10-0 record, the first perfect record in a month with at least five matches in program history.
- The 2014 squad won three of the four nonconference tournaments that it played and tied for the tournament title in the other.
- Against Georgia Tech at home, the Pack broke the program record for highest attacking percentage as team in a conference match with a .398 clip.
- NC State was 11-1 on the year when limiting its opponents to a hitting percentage at/or below .200.
- The 2014 volleyball seniors on the squad will be the first class to graduate with a winning record all four years since 1984.
- They also finish their careers with the most wins (78) during a four-year span since the 1988 class.
- Freshman Kaitlyn Kearney was named to the All-ACC Freshman Team, after being tabbed the ACC Freshman of the Week three times during the year.
- Four seniors will depart from the 2014 squad, but Kearney the team leader in kills, blocks and points scored returns along with four other starters from the year.
