ALMOST ALL FROM FRESHMEN
Five of NC State’s seven goals this season have come from the freshman class. Annah Lindberg (3) and Kayla Saager (2) have been the youngest two Wolfpackers to find the back of the net this season.
DUAL THREAT
It’s not very often that your starting goalkeeper is tied for the team lead in assists. Yet that’s right where Mackenzie Stelljes finds herself, tied for the team lead with two assists along with Alexa Allen and Caroline Gentry. Each of these Wolfpackers is tied for seventh in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
SECOND AS A FRESHMAN
Freshman forward Kayla Saager is leading the Wolfpack with three goals this season. This scoring total ranks tied for second in the ACC.
CONDITIONING IS KEY
In the final 15 minutes of matches this season (minutes 76-90), NC State has outscored its opponents by a 4-1 margin.
MAJOR IMPACT
Junior midfielder Caroline Gentry was all over the field in State’s 3-0 win over Coastal Carolina on Sept. 4. Gentry recorded six shots (one short of tying her career high) and assisted on the first and third goals of the evening.
SHARING THE WEALTH
NC State’s 20 shots in the win over Coastal Carolina came from seven different players. Gentry (6) led the way while Lindberg (4), Saager (3), Stanko (3), Baity (2), Tomayko (1), and Graybill (1) all got in on the act.
