Sept. 5, 2014
A Cheltenham, England native, Elisha will graduate in May 2015 with an economics major and a German minor.
Throughout her career she has compiled a total of 41 singles victories and 34 doubles victories, and was a finalist for the 2014 Arthur Ashe Junior Sports Scholar Award.
Her plans after college are: “I will be working at Deloitte Consulting US in the technology consulting department. I’ll be based out of the D.C. office where I also interned this past summer. D.C. is a great city, so I’m excited to live there. The job entails a lot of travel too, so I am looking forward to working there full-time!”
Her favorite thing about being a student-athlete at NC State is: “I love the passion all the teams, students, and fans have for sports here at NC State. It’s so motivating to be part of something much larger than just yourself and to represent such a great school.”
Why she chose to come to NC State: “I really clicked with the other girls on my team and knew I would enjoy working day-in day-out with them. The girls really are my best friends and we push each other to be better tennis players.”
Her talents outside of tennis are: “I used to do a lot of art, especially painting, but that talent has unfortunately gone a little stale since starting college. Making birthday cards is the extent to which I exercise my creativity now!”
The most exciting places she’s traveled to as a part of the tennis team is: “The most exciting places for me were New York and Chicago because I love the big city feel. We were given a little time to explore the cities and in New York we got to compete on the courts used for the US Open. We almost filled the 22,000 seats.”
What she enjoys doing when she’s not in class or practicing: “I really try to make the most of all the high level sports happening at NC State by going to watch other teams play. Every team here is so hard working and dedicated so it’s great that we have the opportunity to support each other! I’ve also been part of Athletes in Action, a Christian ministry on campus for the athletic department, since my freshman year, so I get involved with a lot of events through that.”
