- Coastal Carolina (5-3) enters the match on a two-game win streak, with the No. 29 RPI in the nation. The Chants were ranked as highly as No. 24 last week. Coastal received one vote in last week's NSCAA Top 25, with a new edition expected Tuesday morning.
- NC State ranks third in the ACC with 130 shots attempted, an average of 16.25 per game. Despite those chances, the Wolfpack (3-3-2) ranks tied for sixth in the conference with 1.5 goals per game. State's stock is on the rise, however. Since a scoreless draw on August 29 against Valpo, the Pack has scored at least once in each of its last seven contests, with multiple scores in three of those.
- While the offense continues to progress, the Pack's results remain tied to the performance of the defense. In State's five combined wins and ties, the Wolfpack has allowed one goal over 490 minutes of play.
