Wolfpack Volleyball Shuts Out Tribe, 3-0

RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State women’s volleyball team earned its 10th consecutive victory on Saturday afternoon, as the squad claimed a 3-0 (25-13, 25-22, 25-18) win against William & Mary at the Courtyard Midtown Invitational inside historic Reynolds Coliseum.
With the win, the Wolfpack moves to 10-1 on the season, while the Tribe falls to 4-8.
Worth Noting
- NC State’s 10 match winning streak mirrors the longest win streak for the program since the 2012 season when the squad reeled off 10 in a row, also in the month of September.
- State opened the match on an 11-3 run and cruised to victory in the first frame, 25-13. Freshman Kaitlyn Kearney led the squad with six kills and had a .556 hitting percentage.
- The Pack won the second set, 25-22, as Rachel Buckley notched four of her eight kills in the frame. The Pack utilized two separate runs, with a 4-1 run to take a 13-9 lead and a separate 6-0 run to increase its lead to 22-15.
- The Wolfpack opened the third set on a 6-1 run and never trailed en route to winning the frame, 25-18. The Tribe would claw to within two at 11-9, but a 3-0 run gave State a comfortable lead for the remainder of the set. Redshirt sophomore Morgan Cormier led the squad with four kills in the set.
Key Performers
- Kearney recorded a match-high 10 kills to lead the offensive attack, while Buckley and Cormier recorded eight kills apiece. Freshman Perry Ramsey also chipped in with seven kills. Cormier also recorded a .429 hitting percentage.
- Defensively, senior Alston Kearns led the charge with 13 digs, while Nikki Glass also reached double-digit digs with 11.
- Junior Tanna Aljoe earned her second start of the season at the setter position and dished out 34 assists.

The Pack will conclude play in the Courtyard Midtown Invitational with a 7 p.m., tilt against Howard later this evening.
