RALEIGH - NC State will be well-represented in a world golf tournament this week, as Augusta James and Brittany Marchand will represent their home country Canada this week in the World Amateur Team Championship in Japan.
The tournament runs Sept. 3-6 in Karuizama, Japan at the Prince Hotel Resort's Iriyama and Oshitate courses.
James and Marchand, both from the Ontario province in Canada, both earned All-ACC honors three times for the Wolfpack and led the team to a tie for 10th at the NCAA Women's Golf Championship this past May in Tulsa, Okla. James can be a four-time honoree as she heads into her senior season in 2014-15. Marchand was a senior and finished her eligibility last spring.
For James, the World Amateur Team Championship in Japan will conclude a run where she won the Canadian Women's Amateur title and advanced to LPGA Qualifying School Stage II.
NC State begins its women's golf season Sept. 14-16 at the Cougar Classic, hosted by College of Charleston at Yeamans Hall Club in Charleston, S.C.
