James Cards A 66 In Cougar Classic Second Round

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Augusta James shot a 6-under 66 to lead the NC State women's golf team in the second round of the Cougar Classic at Yeamans Hall Country Club. James (-8) is tied for second place overall among 120 players.
"I'm looking forward to playing tomorrow and focusing on one shot at a time," James said. "We will see where we finish at the end of the day."
"She scored well," head coach Page Marsh added. She got it in the hole when she missed greens or shots and she stayed patient. She rolled it in when she had opportunities."
NC State (-4) stands fourth in the 23-team event, two shots ahead of 2014 national champion Duke. Arkansas (-9) leads the team standings, followed by Wake Forest and UCLA (-7).
James posted six birdies and didn't bogey a single hole. The Wolfpack also got solid rounds from Vivian Tsui (70-72--142) and Rachael Taylor (73-73--146). Lindsay McGetrick (77-74--151) added a round of 74 and Cecily Overbey (74-76--150) shot 76.
Tuesday's final round has been pushed forward to 8:30 a.m. due to rain in the Charleston area.
