Rachael Taylor posted a 1-over 73 and freshman Cecily Overbey shot 74 in her first collegiate round. Lindsay McGetrick finished the day with a round of 77.
The round was delayed for an hour and then there were three more delays near the end of the round. In all, it took the NC State players seven hours to complete the round.
"I'm proud of their stamina and focus," head coach Page Marsh said. "The team's ability to maintain focus over the last three holes was noteworthy. It's a three-round event and we want to keep building and play one shot at a time."
