RALEIGH – With Atlantic Coast Conference play just a week away, the NC State women’s soccer team travels to nearby UNC Greensboro for a Sunday evening match. The Wolfpack and Spartans will kick off from UNCG Soccer Stadium at 7 p.m.
A WIN ON SUNDAY WOULD...
-Be the 322nd win in program history
-Be NC State’s first road win of the season
-Be NC State’s seventh win over UNC Greensboro
SERIES HISTORY
-Sunday’s match marks the 15th all-time meeting between NC State and UNC Greensboro.
-The series is tied at 6-6-2.

TWICE AS NICE
Junior defender Dayna Tomayko scored the first goal of her career at William & Mary on Sept. 7. The native of Stafford, Va., unleashed a strong shot from 25 yards away which beat the goalkeeper to the top corner in the 37th minute. Just one match later, Tomayko scored the second goal of her career in a Sept. 11 match against Western Carolina.
ASSISTANCE PROVIDED
NC State has provided 12 assists on nine goals scored (1.33 per goal) this season. The Wolfpack averages 1.71 assists per match so far in 2014.
POINT TAKEN
Just five matches into her freshman season with the Wolfpack, German defender/midfielder Franziska Jaser has already registered a point. Jaser received the second assist on Dayna Tomayko’s goal Sept. 11 vs. Western Carolina, feeding the ball to teammate Jenna Kalwa, who would play Tomayko into a goal scoring position.
EVEN ON SHOTS
Despite playing two teams which were ranked in the NSCAA top 20 at the time of kickoff, NC State has taken the same number of shots (83) through seven matches as its opponents.
THE REGULARS
Just four Wolfpackers--Dayna Tomayko, Jenna Kalwa, Annah Lindberg, and Caroline Gentry--have started all seven matches in the 2014 season. Combined, these four student athletes have recorded 12 of State’s 30 points on the year.
