Marchand, James Advance At US Women's Amateur

GLEN COVE, N.Y. - Brittany Marchand and Augusta James each won in match play to advance at the US Women's Amateur Championship at Nassau Country Club.
Marchand and James each played 36 holes and made the cut into match play, and now are among 32 players remaining in the tournament. Marchand defeated China's Yunjie Zhang 2-up and James won 2-up over Sarah Burnham, a player at Michigan State.
James will face Elizabeth Tong in the round of 32 Thursday morning at 7:40 a.m. Marchand will play Dylan Kim beginning at 8:10 a.m. The tournament final is Sunday, Aug. 10.
