Hopper Named to Preseason All-ACC Volleyball Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Senior Dariyan Hopper of the NC State women’s volleyball team has been named to the 2014 Preseason All-Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Team, as announced Tuesday by the league office.
The Shorewood, Ill., native led the Wolfpack offense in points scored (365.5) and kills (335) during the 2013 season. She tallied 213 kills in ACC play, an average of 3.38 kills per set, which is the fifth-best among returning ACC players.
Hopper notched double-digit kills in 18 contests and paced the Pack in kills in 17 of those matches. She smacked a season-high 22 kills in State’s 3-2 home win against Pitt. Against Notre Dame, the outside hitter recorded a career best .640 attacking percentage after swatting 17 kills on 25 swings with just one error.
The conference’s predicted order of finish was also released on Tuesday, as the Wolfpack was tabbed to finish seventh in the league.
NC State opens the 2014 season on Friday, Aug. 29 at 5 p.m. against Eastern Washington as part of the UNCW Hilton Garden Inn Mayfaire Classic held in Wilmington, N.C.
