Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Release
NC State baseball's Trea Turner and Carlos Rodon became the first three-time All-Americans in program history, according to a release sent Thursday by the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper.
Turner was named to the Louisville Slugger All-America first team at shortstop. Rodon joined him on the list as a third team starting pitcher. With the honor, both Turner and Rodon enter the NC State record books as Wolfpack baseball's first three-time All-Americans.
Rodon was a consensus first teamer in 2012 as a freshman, and landed as high as the second team in 2013 thanks to mentions from the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper and NCBWA.
Turner earned a third team mention from NCBWA as a freshman, and a second team selection by the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper in 2013. His latest achievement marks Turner's first trip to an All-America first team.
