RALEIGH, N.C.- The NC State women's track & field team is ranked 19th in the latest edition of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division I National Team Computer Rankings released today.
The Wolfpack, which moved up 26 spots following its showing at the Penn Relays last weekend, is third in the women's rankings for the NCAA Southeast Region while the men hold a No. 12 ranking in their regional.
Overall, the Wolfpack men's and women's teams have combined to place eight student-athletes in the top 20 nationally in 10 different events throughout the 2014 outdoor season.
The national team rankings are compiled by mathematical formulae based on national descending order lists and data taken from previous seasons. The purpose and methodology of the rankings is to create an index that showcases the teams that have the best potential of achieving the top spots in the national team race. Rankings points do not equate with NCAA Championships team points.
