Wolfpack Readies to Compete at Top-Ranked LSU

RALEIGH, N.C. – A week after posting its top score of the season of 196.100, the NC State gymnastics team is set to compete in a dual meet against top-ranked LSU on Friday, March 7. The Wolfpack and the Tigers will open competition at 8 p.m. ET from Pete Maravich Assembly Center in Baton Rouge, La.
The Pack will open the meet on the uneven parallel bars before moving to vault. In the second half of the meet, State will compete on the floor exercise and conclude the evening on the balance beam.
Last time out, the Wolfpack posted its highest team score of the campaign with a 196.100 on Friday in a quad meet inside Reynolds Coliseum. The squad finished with a season-best score on the floor exercise of 49.250.
Sophomore Brittni Watkins also enjoyed a terrific meet, as she finished first in three of the four events in which she competed, including vault (9.925), bars (9.850) and floor (9.875). In addition, she finished first in the all-around competition with a 39.400. She was named EAGL Gymnast of the Week for her performance.
