Q: Talk about your first semester at NC State.
"One of the first things that I had to adjust to was the larger class sizes because I had never been in classes that large before. It was hard getting adjusted to it at the beginning, but midway through the semester I was fine. I think it was a really good experience for me."
Q: What was the biggest adjustment from high school to college?
"The workload. I've never written so many papers in one week."
Q: How did studying for finals exams go for you?
"I went to the Case Academic Center to study a lot, which really helped. I also sought extra help from my professors and talked with them outside of class time."
Q: Talk about how your first exam went.
"I was so nervous for my first exam. I didn't know what to expect as far as how many questions would be on the test or what material would be covered. My first one was in biology, but I put a lot of time and preparation into studying for it."
Q: How well did you balance softball practice with your academics during the first semester?
"One thing that was key for me was to get homework and some studying done before practice in the afternoons because you're a little tired after practice. I found that as long as some of my homework was done before practice, then I would be fine."
Q: Talk about how the fall season went for you and adjusting to the college game.
"It went pretty well for me. I was nervous for the first couple of games, but then I started to get more comfortable."
Q: How excited are you about the season starting in the spring?
"I'm so excited. We're playing so many good teams and we'll have an opportunity to make a statement early in the season."
Q: What are you most looking forward in the season?
"Traveling with the team. It will be so much fun going on the road with the girls."
Q: How does it feel to be at home for a few weeks during the break?
"To be honest, it feels weird being home because I've been at school and in Raleigh for so long. During the break, I'm just going to spend time with family and friends and eat food that I can't get in Raleigh."
Q: What's the number one item on your Christmas list?
"The iPhone 6, my phone's getting old."
