RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State women's volleyball team will complete a four-match homestand on Sunday, Nov. 9, when it welcomes the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets to Reynolds Coliseum. First serve is slated for 2 p.m. and will be broadcast live on GoPack All-Access.
The Wolfpack enters the weekend with a 13-10 overall, including an 8-4 mark in home matches. The Yellow Jackets have an 11-13 record in 2014 and a 2-6 mark in road matches.
Last Meeting
Georgia Tech won the last meeting between the two teams in Atlanta earlier this season, 3-1. Despite dropping the match, NC State recorded more kills and more digs than Tech and forced the last three sets to be determined with extra points (Past 25).
Last Time Out
The Wolfpack lost to the Miami Hurricanes last Sunday, 3-0, in the most recent outing for the squad. The Yellow Jackets defeated Notre Dame in a five-set match last Friday, 3-2.
Youth Movement
In its last match against Miami, the Wolfpack started four freshmen, two sophomores and one senior. Six of the seven starters for the squad are underclassmen, which is one of the highest totals of underclassmen starting for any team in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
The Pack's statistical leader in kills, assists, blocks and points scored is an underclassmen, which bodes well for the future of the program.
Leading The Pack
Freshman middle blocker Kaitlyn Kearney has been the Wolfpack's top offensive weapon this season, leading the squad with 2.73 kills per set. Dariyan Hopper, a senior outside hitter from Shorewood, Ill., is second on the team with 2.44 kills per set.
At the setter position, junior Tanna Aljoe and sophomore Maggie Speaks have split time with the former handing out 10.26 assists per set and the latter 9.10 aps. Defensively, senior Alston Kearns paces the group with 3.06 digs per set, while sophomore Rachel Eppley is second with 2.60 dps.
Lucky Number Two

In 23 matches played this season, the Wolfpack has won the second set 16 times. The squad has posted a 12-4 record when winning the second set of a match. State has scored 544 points in the second frame, which is the highest of any set for the team.
Scouting Georgia Tech
The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are 11-13 on the season, including a 4-7 mark in ACC action. Prior to the squad's matchup with the Wolfpack on Sunday, the Jackets will take on the Wake Forest Demon Deacons in Winston-Salem, N.C. on Friday.
During head coach Bryan Bunn's tenure, NC State has posted a 5-3 record against the Ramblin Wreck.
Tech boasts a set of twins who lead the squad offensively as Teegan Van Gunst has 3.57 kills per set and twin sister Annika has recorded 2.86 kps. Rebecca Martin serves as the team's setter and averages 9.23 assists per set. Defensively, libero London Ackermann paces the Jackets with 3.82 digs per set.
