Wolfpack Plays at Princeton Tuesday Evening

RALEIGH – The NC State women’s soccer team plays its final match of the season on Tuesday evening, heading north to take on the Princeton Tigers. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. from Roberts Stadium.

HOMECOMING FOR SANTORO
Tuesday’s match at Princeton will serve as a homecoming of sorts for NC State second-year head coach Tim Santoro. The Pack’s coach is a native of Bridgeton, N.J., a city approximately one hour south of Princeton.
THIRD IN THE LEAGUE
Sophomore goalkeeper Mackenzie Stelljes ranks fifth in the Atlantic Coast Conference this season with 72 saves. She is averaging 4.80 stops per appearance.
GAINING EXPERIENCE
The Wolfpack has received contributions from 12 different freshmen or sophomores this season including a team-high 1,649 minutes from sophomore defender Alyson Brown. Brown has seen significant time in all 18 matches and has made 17 starts.
INJURY BUG
The Wolfpack has not played a single match this season with its entire first choice starting eleven. At one point or another this season, injuries have limited the time of nine different student athletes.
SERIES HISTORY
Tuesday’s match marks the first meeting between NC State and Princeton in the history of both programs.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
-Princeton enters Tuesday’s match the owner of a 6-5-3 record which includes a 3-2-1 mark in Ivy League play.
-The Tigers are coming off a 2-1 win at Cornell on Nov. 1.
-Princeton is 2-2-2 in six home contests this season.
-The Tigers have scored 28 goals this season while allowing 25.
-Tyler Lussi leads the way offensively for the Tigers this season with 16 goals. As of matches played Oct. 30, she ranks second in the entire NCAA in goals scored per match.
