Rifle Falls at Top-Ranked West Virginia

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – The NC State rifle team was defeated by No. 1 West Virginia Sunday afternoon at the WVU Rifle Range. The 13th-ranked Wolfpack fired a score of 4586, while the Mountaineers charted a score of 4714 at their home facility.
The Pack falls to 19-7 and 0-6 in Great America Rifle Conference (GARC) matches, while West Virginia remains undefeated at 8-0 and 6-0 in conference action.
Miller’s Minute
Opening statement…
“We had a slightly better day than we did yesterday,” said head coach Keith Miller. “We still performed below our expectations and expectations for the match. Everyone was fairly tired today from a long weekend of travel and matches, but we have to perform better.
“In spite of the slightly lower scores, we finished the day with some strong air rifle strings, so as coaches we’re proud of our team for competing hard all the way to the end.”
