NC State (7-5-4, 1-3-3 ACC) visits Clemson (9-6-1, 4-2-1) on Friday night for a match televised on RSN, with the Pack's ACC and NCAA Tournament hopes on the line.

- The Pack's success all season has long has come from sturdy goalkeeping and tough defense, anchored by junior Alex McCauley, who earned College Sports Madness ACC Player of the Week honors for his shutout of No. 5 Syracuse last Saturday. McCauley earned ACC Player of the Week honors from the conference for his performance against then-No. 5 Louisville. The junior from Marietta, Ga. ranks second in the conference for saves (60) and tied for fourth in shutouts (5).
- NC State sits 10th in the ACC standings heading for the conference tournament, safely inside the cut line. This Friday, the Pack can assure its place in the tournament with a win or tie at Clemson. Boston College has an outside chance at knocking the Wolfpack out, with a win at Syracuse. Duke and Virginia Tech play each other, eliminating State from the host discussion. NC State will make the ACC Tournament with a WIN, TIE, or LOSS + BC TIE or LOSS.
