
Cross Country Finishes Second and Eighth at Notre Dame Invitational

SOUTH BEND, IND.- The NC State men’s and women’s cross country teams wrapped up their second meet at the Notre Dame Invitational on Oct. 3.
The women’s squad came away with a second place team finish out of 20 teams with 123 points. The men’s team finished eighth of 24 teams with 276 points at the 59th annual meet.
Meet Highlights
-Joanna Thompson led the women’s squad to their second place title with her third place finish in the individual standings.
-Sophomore Erika Kemp finished 15th in the individual competition while freshman Mary Grace Doggett finished 22nd to round out the top three for the Wolfpack women.
-Sam Parsons led the Wolfpack men again with an 18th place individual finish and a time of 23:44.8.

The squads will next travel to Terre Haute, Ind. on Oct. 18 for the Indiana Pre-Nationals Invitational, hosted by Indiana State at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course.
This is the same site that the 2014 Division I NCAA Championships will be held at. Indiana State has hosted the championship meet for 10 of the last 12 years.
