NC State (6-5-3, 1-3-2 ACC) men's soccer faces No. 5 Syracuse (13-2, 4-2) at 7 p.m. on Saturday at Dail Soccer Stadium, in a battle with massive ACC and NCAA Tournament implications for the Wolfpack.
#PACKFOOTY NEWS & NOTES
- Saturday night's matchup will be a meeting of two of the ACC's top goaltenders. Alex McCauley ranks second in the league in saves (60) and tied for fourth in shutouts (5). Syracuse's Alex Bono leads the conference with a whopping 10 shutouts in only 15 games.
- State sits one point shy of Duke for ninth in the conference, inside the cut line for the ACC Tournament. If the Pack can maintain its position, the reward is at least one more match to boost State's RPI. The Wolfpack has one win over at Top 10 opponent already, a 2-1 home win over then-No. 5 Louisville. If State can stack up another, it would certainly garner the attention of the NCAA selection committee in a matter of weeks.
