Pack to Honor Seniors, Host Miami Thursday Evening

RALEIGH – The NC State women’s soccer team honors its seniors on Thursday night in advance of its Atlantic Coast Conference clash with Miami. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Dail Soccer Field with the senior ceremony slated to begin at 6:45.

SERIES HISTORY
-Thursday’s match marks the 11th all-time meeting between NC State and Miami.
-The Hurricanes hold a 5-3-2 edge in the series.
-The teams last met on Sept. 19 of the 2013 season, a match which Miami won 2-1 in Coral Gables, Fla.
SCOUTING THE HURRICANES
-Miami enters Thursday’s match the owner of a 2-12-1 record which includes an 0-6-1 mark in ACC play.
-The Hurricanes earned their victories early in the season, defeating Jacksonville (1-0) and Stetson (3-0).
-Miami has scored 11 goals this season and allowed 33.
-Three Hurricanes are tied for the team lead in goals with two: Erin McGovern, Jasmine Paterson, and Emily Auld.
-Co-leading scorer Paterson will be ineligible for Thursday’s contest due to a red card she earned in a 2-0 loss to Clemson on Oct. 18.
SENIOR NIGHT
Thursday’s match against Miami will serve as the Wolfpack’s 2014 Senior Night. In a ceremony prior to the match, NC State will honor the careers of the following four seniors:

Rachel Harris
Kasey Koballa
Julia Sandridge
Combined, these four student athletes have earned 14 semes¬ters on the Dean’s List and have an average GPA of 3.52.
CAREER DAY
Sophomore goalkeeper Mackenzie Stelljes made a career-high 13 saves in NC State’s overtime match at Boston College on Oct. 19. This topped her prior mark of 11 set in an overtime match against Syracuse last season.
CLOSE MATCHES
Eleven of 15 matches this season have been decided by one or fewer goals. Five of NC State’s ACC losses have come by merely one goal.
