DeSorbo’s Discussion
On the performance of the team:
“The ladies swam great tonight in the first night of the SMU Classic,” said associate head coach Todd DeSorbo. “It’s a great environment. It’s a great meet that SMU puts on with an interesting format. It’s a lot of fun and we’re happy to be here for the first time. We had a lot of great races by our women. It’s great to see where we’re at and it looks as if for the most part we’re ahead of where we were at this point last year.”
On being the only team not competing in high tech speed suits:
“Most teams are wearing the fast technical suits, the speed suits, and we’re the only ones without it. It provides a challenge for our team, but our girls are definitely stepping up and competing at a high level. We’re happy to see it and we’re looking forward to closing out on a strong note tomorrow in the second session.”
On the performance of Rachel Mumma:
“Rachel Mumma is diving well on the one-meter, finishing third. It’s great to have her back after redshirting last year and we’re looking forward to a great year with her.”
