Wolfpack Track & Field Resumes Indoor Season This Friday

RALEIGH, N.C. - After a five-week hiatus between meets, the NC State track & field team will return to action this Friday, Jan. 17 at the Gene Anderson Invitational in Chapel Hill, N.C.
The Wolfpack will send 38 student-athletes (21 women, 17 men) to the Eddie Smith Field House to compete against UNC, Virginia, South Carolina State and NC A&T.
NC State is coming off a strong debut last time out at the JDL Kickoff Classic on Dec. 7, 2013. The Wolfpack totaled four first-place finishes on the day to kickoff the season.
Sophomore Jonathan Addison took first-place in the high jump at a height of 6'10.25", while freshman Paisley Simmons finished first in the women's 60m dash with a time of 7.57.
Redshirt sophomore Nicole Chavis landed in first in the women's weight throw with a toss of 61'1.25" and redshirt sophomore SeQuoia Watkins nabbed a first-place finish in the women's shot put with a distance of 47'3.75". Watkins also set a personal best in the weight throw as well, finishing second behind Chavis with a heave of 58'2".
