Men's Tennis Concludes Day Two of Wolfpack Invite

RALEIGH, N.C. – The 35th-ranked NC State men’s tennis team earned 13 of 16 victories in doubles matches played throughout the day on Saturday, as play in the Wolfpack Invite continued inside the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center.
Throughout the morning session, the Pack captured five victories against opponents from William & Mary and Elon. The 54th-ranked pair of Sean Weber and Robbie Mudge highlighted the matches against the Tribe as the duo earned a 6-3 victory over Ben Hoogland and John Banks.
Against the Phoenix, the Wolfpack captured three victories, including a 6-5 (5) victory for the duo of Thomas Weigel and Simon Norenius against Robert Lindgren and Brian Kowalski.
The afternoon session saw State win a perfect eight of eight doubles matches, including a pair of victories by the 19th-ranked tandem of Weber and Nick Horton. The duo downed William & Mary’s pair of Ben Guthrie and Damon Niquet, 6-3, before defeating Elon’s Silverman and Fortmann by the same score later in the afternoon. Horton and Weber improve to 5-2 for the season.
The Wolfpack Invite will conclude on Sunday, as State and Elon will play eight singles matches beginning at 9:30 a.m.
