NC State men's soccer travels to Gardner-Webb for a 7 p.m. kickoff on Tuesday night in Boiling Springs, N.C.
The Wolfpack (4-2-1) suffered a tough-luck loss at home against Boston College last Friday night, falling 2-1 despite outshooting the Eagles 22-9 on the evening. Clement Simonin scored his third goal of the year, on assists from Holden Fender and Moss Jackson-Atogi.
Simonin's goal gives him eight points on the year, tied with Nick Surkamp as the Pack's twin scoring leaders. Surkamp's four goals are good for the team lead. Alex Martinez's three assists pace the Wolfpack.
In the loss to BC, State's defense gave up multiple goals for only the second time through seven games. Senior goalkeeper Fabian Otte sports a 0.94 GAA, collecting 22 saves and recording three shutouts while starting every game.
Gardner-Webb (4-4) enters the match following a pair of 1-0 road losses to nationally ranked opponents. The Bulldogs dropped a 1-0 decision at No. 17 Furman on September 23, then surrendered another 1-0 loss at No. 12 Coastal Carolina on September 28.
Tuesday's match will be streamed live on the Big South Network. Live stats will be available on GoPack.com. Fans can also follow along with Twitter updates by following @PackMensSoccer.
